A Step Towards a Greener Tomorrow

Wednesday, 25th March, 2026
We had an incredibly fulfilling day of community environmental outreach across three churches in the Wote area:

  • 📍 St. Theresa of the Child Jesus – West Ngosini
  • 📍 St. Theresa of Avila – Itunguni
  • 📍 St. Dominic – Mang’auni

Together with the community, we successfully planted 151 assorted tree seedlings, including Thika palms, guava, Senna siamea and neem trees.

Beyond the planting, we engaged about 90 congregants, sharing knowledge on our collective responsibility to protect our environment. This initiative reminds us that while progress is gradual, every tree planted and every mind inspired brings us closer to a healthier future.

Sincere appreciation to the community members, priests and the entire team for your sacrifice and dedication. Your support strengthens our commitment to serving both people and Mother Earth.

Bee for Forests Project

Funded by PACJA and implemented by the Makuli Beekeepers Group in Makueni, the Bee for Forests Project (2022-2023) achieved the following:
  • Establishment of Apiary: Set up an apiary with 15 beehives to promote sustainable apiculture practices.
  • Agroforestry Tree Nursery: Established a tree nursery to support agroforestry initiatives and enhance biodiversity.
  • Training on Apiculture: Provided training on best practices in apiculture to improve honey production and beekeeping skills.
  • Best Agroforestry Practices: Trained community members on sustainable agroforestry practices to integrate tree farming with agriculture, enhancing environmental and economic benefits.
These initiatives contribute to environmental conservation, climate change mitigation, and the economic empowerment of the local community.

World Environment Day 2025

As part of the lead-up to World Environment Day 2025, we proudly participated in the planning and execution of a county-wide clean-up and awareness campaign in collaboration with Government of Makueni County and Kenya Red Cross, Makueni County Chapter.

This initiative focused on promoting sustainable waste management practices within local communities, with special emphasis on Ending Plastic Pollution - the theme of this year’s World Environment Day. The initiative sought to;
  • Raise awareness on the harmful impacts of plastic pollution on ecosystems
  • Encourage waste segregation at source and responsible bin usage
  • Engage community members in practical clean-up efforts
  • Support Makueni County’s broader environmental sustainability goals
This initiative directly supports our mission to green the planet, uplift livelihoods, and foster climate resilience through informed action and sustainable practices.
